Exclusive fishing for ordinary people

Lakselva in Porsanger Finnmark, is one of our most favorite salmon rivers in 2009.
Being good for an annual catch of over 1000 salmons with an average weight of 5,7 kilo and totaling almost 8000 kilos, this is the place where you have the biggest chance to catch your trophy salmon. With a limited sale of fishing permits and a lot of big fishes, this river stands for exclusive salmon fishing for ordinary people.
Lakselv Landowner Society sells 10 day permits for each of the 4 salmon zones. In addition you can buy permits for for the sea zoneand zone 5, or you can rent a pool directly from one of the private landsowners witch is not member of Lakselv Landowner Society. In addition to the permits that are selling for the sea zones and zone 5, some of private landowners sell directly to anglers. ...More

Fishing for big salmon on the Lombola stretch.

What a salmon! 12,8 kg. A Duck Special Spoon dangles from its jaw. Mr. Egil Persen from Alta just had yet another golden moment on the Lombola stretch. However this is not his biggest salmon. The record was caught on fly some years back, and was a staggering 19,6 kg. Never the less the same feeling of thrill and awe is present every time a big salmon is landed. To catch and land a big salmon is always an unforgettable experience.
Mr Egil Persen owns a cabin in Stabbursdalen valley. This is where he spends his entire summer. If you are hunting for the big salmon, the time to come here is from 18`th of June until 1`st of July. Everybody wants to fish in Fossekulpen, but only 5 permits are sold there. The fishing is also regulated from the suspension bridge and down to the outlet. But the chances of a catch are just as good in the remaining parts of the river.
On the 12 km long stretch from the campsite and up to pond Fossekulpen, there are an unrestricted number of permits. And the same thing goes for the long stretch above Fossekulpen and up to Njakkagorzze, where the salmon is forced to stop. Late season it is a lot of salmon here, and few people. Not everybody has the health for this walk, even though the odds for a major catch are high. ...More

Suldalslågen River, a new favourite for big salmon anglers

Suldalslaagen is a primer target for anglers in the 2008 season. If you have a late vacation, this river is perfect for you. Because the salmon hits the river later than in other rivers, the best fishing takes place in September. Furthermore, Suldalslaagen is not only the best salmon river in Rogaland State. Together with River Drammenselva, it is consistently among the best rivers in Southern Norway, with regular catches above 20kg. ...More

The big salmon re-established in Reisa!

Reisa is re-merging as one of Norway’s most attractive rivers for big salmon. Wrapped up in abundant mountain vegetation, and with more than 40 waterfalls, the river is now developed into a tourist magnet wrapped in gold. The official 5,7 ton catch record for salmon only in 2006, is a five times rise in two years.
The success appears to be continuing. In 2007, when the general fishing in Norway was very bad in most rivers, Reisa managed to keep up its catch record from previous years, ending at 5 ton! The small salmon was absent, but this was more than compensated by an increased catch of big salmon. Most of the salmon landed on premiere night, was between 8-18 kg. Especially local fishermen who can fish the river regularly may experience incredible catching. In the 2006 season, one of the locals caught 59 salmons, 50 sea trout and char. In the 2007 season, several fishermen could report catching in the scale of 40-50 salmons, 20-30 sea trout, and 10-15 arctic char. ...More

The best Atlantic Salmon River in the world!

No other fishing location in the world, has as much Atlantic salmon as the whitewater stretch “Saidastrykene” from Tana Bridge to the big waterfall “Storfossen”. On average some 50 000 salmons pass this zone on their long wedding migration towards the tundra. Here is ample room for all. You live well, and you don’t need to be a millionaire. Permits are quite reasonable. Huge salmons are located close shore. You don’t need long range casting, but be prepared for some long range wandering once the salmons set off downstream! Maybe you will be as lucky as Mr. Håkon Henriksen was in 2006. His salmon weighed 26 kilos. ...More

Golden moments under the waterfall Harefossen

Trolls are literary breathing down my neck at the sight of multiple great salmons flashing their backs as they enter the “Troll-pool” under the foaming waters of “Harefossen”. The first groups of early salmons headed for their spawning rendezvous in the River Flekke. Side by side they stack up under the mountain wall, before they finally spread out on the spawning grounds to full fill their wedding tasks later in September. ...More
